Oakland Cemetery
For over 180 years, Russellville Oakland Cemetery has been committed to service of the community and the final resting place for many of the area's residents.
Oakland hosts several events throughout the year, including Cleanup/Decoration Day, Notables of Russellville Tours, Symbolism Interpretation Tours (Spring & Fall), Stone Cleaning Workshops (eligible for community service hours), and Private Tours.
These are free events, however donations are accepted to assist in the preservation and beautification projects of Oakland.

Russellville Oakland Cemetery Mini-Workshops – Community Service
What It’s About: Gravestone cleaning! You do not need to have any skills as we will teach you what to do. This workshop provides you with the materials and instructions you will need, along with advice from the Board of Commissioners for ROC and the Director. Community Service programs are valuable to both the volunteers and the community. It is the goal of ROC to not only have the benefit of the service of volunteers, but to give back to them by teaching basic to intermediate skills of stone cleaning, a brief story of local history, possibly some genealogy along the way, and simply allowing that reconnection with nature.
